Open Mic Night

Where: Thank You Five, 4606 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.

Details: Enjoy music, spoken word and comedy for the evening at the Thank You Five stage. $5 coverage charge.

Annual summer food site supervisor training workshop

When: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: Lifeguard Headquarters and Administrative Center, 515 S. Atlantic Ave.

Details: Properly prepare for your Summer BreakSpot with a free food safety course for the Volusia County Summer Food Program. Each site is required at least two trained staffed members, with at least one on duty during meal times. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m. Contact Patricia Hubbard at 736-5956, ext 12984.

Daytona Beach Galloway Training Kick Off

When: 6 a.m.

Where: The Running Elements, 5521 S. Williamson Blvd.

Details: Fulfill your dream of running a 5K, half or full marathon by joining Jeff Galloway’s training program. The first session is free, with a fee for the program. Ribbon-cutting for Our Children First Foundation Inc

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Port Orange Chamber Commerce at Riverside Pavilion, 3431 S. Ridgewood Ave.

Details: Join the Port Orange Chamber Commerce in celebrating the launch of Port Orange’s nonprofit Our Children First Foundation Inc. The organization advocates for victims and families of child abuse across Volusia County and strive to assist, educate and reform. Food and beverages provided.

Port Orange Leland board Certification & BrightView Landscaping Course

When: 2:30-6:30 p.m.

Where: Lakeside Community Center, 1999 City Circle
