11:40 a.m. — 3700 block of Nova Road
Retail theft. A 60-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was caught with stolen items in her bag. She later told police she was just going to search her car for store coupons, according to the report.
The woman originally entered the store with a large empty purse and began selecting clothing items from around the store, according to the report. She proceeded to remove multiple pairs of shoes from their boxes, place them under clothes in the shopping cart, and went to the dressing room.
After loss prevention checked the fitting room, they confirmed several of the items the woman went in with were now missing, according to the report. Loss prevention confronted the woman after she exited the store without paying. During a search of the bag, they found a small set of diagonal side-cutters, which the woman said she keeps for personal defense, along with multiple items from around the store
The woman was taken to jail.
8:31 a.m. — 3600 block of Nova Road
Trespassing. A 54-year-old man was arrested after being on the property, again, of a local gas station he was trespassed from last month. This time, he was sitting on the mulch by the entrance when the reporting officer was contacted.
When police arrived the man was on the sidewalk again, and said he was aware of the trespass warning but that he was only sitting on the sidewalk, according to the report. The original trespass warning was issued on May 14. The man was arrested on May 24 and May 30 for the same offense. The man was taken to jail, again.
12:22 p.m. — 4000 block of Halifax Drive
Trespassing. The day after being trespassed from a local restaurant, a 44-year-old man returned to the property. He told police he only came back because he thought it was just the building he was trespassed from, according to the report.
When police arrived, the man was on the property sitting in a chair next to the front door. He was arrested, issued another trespass warning, and taken to jail.
9:22 p.m. — 1100 block of Dunlawton Avenue
No driver's license. When an 18-year-old woman was pulled over because of an unassigned vehicle tag, and no valid driver's license, she told police she was going to the hospital because she was having cramps and bleeding heavier than normal, according to the report.
When police asked if she needed a paramedic, the woman said it was not necessary, according to the report. She admitted to knowing the plate did not belong on the car and that nobody was at home to drive her so she put the tag on herself.
The woman explained the tag was sitting on the table at home because her mother had just sold a car and took that tag off, according to the report. The woman also told police she had never been issued a driver's license in the past.
She was taken to jail.
