Resisting an officer without violence. Silence is not always the answer, as discovered by a 34-year-old man who was arrested after refusing to identify himself during a trespass investigation.

Police responded to a local apartment complex in reference to a trespasser near the front office. Once the man fitting the description was found, police asked if he lived there, to which the man replied he did not. When the man was asked for his ID, he refused to acknowledge the request, according to the report. The man also refused to provide his name.

Police gave the man several opportunities to identify himself and to arrange a ride off the property, according to the report. The man was told that if he continued to resist he would be placed under arrest. The man continued to be silent, according to the report.

The man’s identity was later confirmed by an ID card in his wallet. He was taken to jail.

Fast food blues

Driving while license suspended. A 40-year-old woman who was pulled over for a suspended driver's license told police she was just getting her kids some food from McDonalds, according to a police report.

The woman said she did not have her license because police confiscated it when she was pulled over and arrested a few weeks prior in Palm Beach. The woman has multiple suspensions on her license and was deemed a habitual offender in 2018, the report states. A criminal history search showed a prior conviction for a felony offense for driving with a suspended license back in April.

The woman was arrested and taken to jail. A friend got her car and kids in the meantime.
