Blue Power 2020 Action Forum

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Fair Trade Cafe, 160 Cypress Point Parkway

Cost: Free

Details: The Blue Power 2020 Action Forum is where progressive Democrats meet every week to discuss local, state and national issues and propose actions to influence political leaders. All opinions and ideas are welcomed. 

 

Compassionate Friends meeting

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: VITAS office, 4 Old Kings Road N.

Cost: Free

Details: The Compassionate Friends, a nonprofit self-help bereavement support organization, welcomes any parent, grandparent and sibling over age 18 who have suffered the loss of a child of any age. Call John Brady at 610-428-3139.

‘A… My name is Alice’

Where: Flagler Playhouse

Saturday, Feb. 2

Race of the Runway

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Flagler Executive Airport, 201 Airport Road

Cost: $20 for walkers; $30 for timed runners

Details: The Rotary Club of Flagler will host walkers and runners on the tarmac and taxiways at the Flagler Executive Airport this year for its nighttime 5K fundraiser. Visit http://www.flaglerbeachrotary.org to register. All participants will receive a collector’s medal. This year’s medal is a B-25 airplane. There will be a free pizza party after the race as well as a ceremony to recognize winners.

 

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Flagler Sportfishing Club Meeting

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: VFW Post 8696, 47 Old Kings Road N.

Cost: Free

Details: At 7 p.m., there will be a swap and shop; bring equipment you would like to sell. The general meeting starts at 7:30 p.m., with the featured guest speakers at 8:15 p.m. Learn what it means to be a member of the Flagler Sportfishing Club.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 6

Human trafficking: the cost in more than dollars 

When: Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Event starts at 6 p.m.

Where: Hilton Garden Inn, 55 Town Center Blvd.

Details: The Flagler County Republican Club invites the community to its February meeting. Guest speakers include: 7th Circuit State Attorney RJ Larizza, Flagler County Sheriff's Office Investigative Services Division Chief Steve Brandt, and Family Life Center Executive Director Trish Giaccone. Women in Red luncheon

When: 1-4 p.m.

Where: Hilton Garden Inn of Palm Coast, 55 Town Center Blvd.

Details: St. Johns-Putnam-Flagler Co. Chapter of The Charmettes Inc. will present the event. The speaker will be Sandra Gilyard, a former educator from Putnam County, member of the Putnam County School Board and a minister at New Bethel A.M.E Church of San Mateo. Thursday, Feb. 21

School Safety Panel

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Details: The Flagler Tiger Bay Club will host session No. 1 of this panel, made up of Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly, Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager, Flagler Schools Executive Director of Leadership Development Dr. Earl Johnson and FCSO Director of Domestic and Homeland Security Randy Stroud.
