Where:Port Orange Regional Library, Auditorium 1, 1005 City Center Circle

Details: Visit for an interactive storytime for not-yet-walking children and their caregiver. Free. Call 322-5152.

Dorothy L. Hukill City Center Annex Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

When: 5:30-7 p.m.

Where: Dorothy L. Hukill City Center Annex, City Center, 1395 Dunlawton Ave.

Details: Join the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Dorothy L. Hukill building. Light refreshments available. Free to attend.

Saturday, Feb. 23

Halifax Sport Fishing Club Fishing w/ Veterans

When: 8 a.m. to noon

Where: Port Orange Causeway Park, 93 Dunlawton Ave.

Details: Veterans fish under the Dunlawton bridge with the HSFC volunteers. Assistance, poles, and bait provided. Coffee and breakfast items available. The event is free. Prizes for different categories. Visit hsfc.com.

The Ridiculous Comedy and Magic Show

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: The Stage at Thank You Five, 4606 S Clyde Morris Blvd.

Details: Laugh at this comedy and magic show by Todd Bogue. Tickets are $15. Call 295-5699.

Elks Ice Cream Social

When: 2-4 p.m.

Where: Port Orange Elks Lodge,  5702 Ridgewood Ave.

Details: Get to know the Port Orange Elks and their involvement in the community with ice cream sundaes. The Elks help support children to veterans. No cost and open to the public.

Tuesday, Feb. 26

Special City Council Meeting

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: City Chambers in City Hall, 1000 City Center Circle

Details: Attend the meeting for selecting the interim council member for Council Seat District 1. The position, open since January 8, will serve until the permanent seat is elected on June 11. Qualification period for the permanent seat ends noon on Feb. 22.

When: 6 p.m.

Where: All Saints Lutheran Church, 751 Dunlawton Ave.

Details: Come here the Bethune Cookman University Inspirational Gospel Choir. Free concert.

Details: Participate with the community in a get-fit commitment from March 3-May 5. Features 10 weeks of activities, workshops, training sessions, and resources. Individual or team.
