Creekside Middle School hosted its third-annual PAWS For a Taste event, bringing in local businesses, restaurants and the school community to the fundraiser, and raising over $8,000 for the PTSA.
Creekside PTSA Treasurer Kim Short is responsible for ensuring the funds are used to benefit the students in the best way possible.
"This year we supplied our dance class with costumes, and upgrades to our classrooms such as flexible seating," Short said.
The event, held on Saturday, Feb. 2, had the support from numerous Volusia County businesses, including Daytona Toyota, SuperWash Express, CenterState Bank, Kohl's, Bundza Wealth Management, and Destination 4x4 & More. Numerous teachers and parents brought their families to the event, which was attended by over 100 people. The money raised will be used to fund school programs like the honors banquet, basketball banquet, science fair, robotics club, and textbooks for the students.
