To raise money for Belle Terre Elementary School, Principal Terrance Culver allowed students to duct tape him to a wall in the cafeteria for the second year in a row on Monday, Jan. 29.
“The things I do for these kids,” Culver said with a laugh.
Dean of Discipline Priscilla Campbell said Culver was laughing out of nervousness, as it’s quite uncomfortable to be taped to a wall.
For $1 per piece of tape, students could add to the layers of duct tape keeping Culver adhered to the wall.
“I don’t know if the kids like me or if this is payback,” Culver joked.
Fourth-grader Ryan Baum, who saved up $11 to contribute, said it was the best money he has spent all year.
“This one’s for the dress code,” Baum said as he stuck another piece to Culver.
Culver said the money raised will go to the general school fund for anything it needs. Assistant Principal Katrina Feola said $387 was raised at the event.
