School is back in session, and the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce has made sure local teachers will be getting supplies for the new year.

An Education Team School Supply Drive, which ended on Jan. 11, has brought in enough donations to give 13 schools in Port Orange and South Daytona baskets filled with supplies, including notebooks, highlighters and folders. In addition to the public schools, a basket will also go to Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona.

"We want the schools to know that we as businesses care and that we're here and hearing them and hopefully supporting their best efforts to make our kids great," said Jennifer Card, chair for the chamber's education team.
