Ormond Beach City Manager Joyce Shanahan was named United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties' Board Member of the Fourth Quarter thanks to her work leading the non-profit's campaign.

During this time, Shanahan, who serves as chair of United Way's board of directors, set up a meeting with city managers to present on United Way and has advocated on its behalf to increase campaigns through the municipalities. She also continues to lead her own internal campaign and to promote its growth, according to a press release.

In November, Shanahan served alongside staff and other volunteers for United Way's Food, Wine and Brew fundraiser.

“Joyce has been outspoken in her support of the United Way’s mission and activities to improve the lives of our most vulnerable in Volusia and Flagler counties," said Dennis Burns, CEO of the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties in a press release. "We are grateful for her leadership in our community."
