Before, during and after Hurricane Irma, Volusia County Councilwoman Heather Post toured the community and assisted in well-being checks, she told the Observer.
"I'm JUST NOW headed home to get some sleep," she wrote in a Facebook message. "We are very fortunate to have made it through with minimal damage and injury. I'm so proud of everyone that worked together to coordinate efforts and of the many still working diligently to restore services."
