Fire burns down hunting shed, no injuries reported

The fire caused a total loss to the structure.

No injuries were reported from a structure fire off of Shunz Road and Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31.

The single-story structure at a hunting camp was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire units arrived and was a complete loss, according to Volusia County Fire Rescue.

According to Port Orange Fire Department officials, the structure is in an area of the city's well fields where a portion of the land is leased to a hunting club. 

The fire was called in at 11:06 a.m. with Port Orange Fire and Daytona Fire responding along with Volusia County. 

The state fire marshal began an investigation into the incident, according Volusia County Fire Rescue.
