The following storm update is from Volusia County Information Services.

Volusia County Emergency Management officials are encouraging residents to continue to monitor Tropical Storm Colin. Complete storm information is available at volusia.org/PIN. As of 7 p.m., June 6, Volusia County remained under a tropical storm warning.
According to the National Weather Service, Volusia County should see periods of locally heavy rain the night of June 6 (up to two to three inches) and strong wind gusts in squalls, with some gusts possibly reaching 45 mph. With the rapid movement of this storm, winds should start to decrease after midnight and drop off substantially after 6 a.m. There remains a risk for isolated tornadoes across the area through the overnight hours.
Due to the projected tropical storm force winds and significant rain, residents who do not need to be on the roads are encouraged to stay home. If needing to travel, motorists are encouraged to use caution as there may be localized flooding or standing water in areas.
The county’s Citizens Information Center will reopen at 8 a.m. on June 7 and can be reached at (866) 345-0345.
Residents are also encouraged to sign up to receive emergency telephone or email notifications from Volusia County Emergency Management at volusia.org/emergency.
