Ormond Beach police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Bealls in the Ormond Towne Square at 4 a.m., Feb. 26. They are seeking two suspects who are shown in photos taken at an ATM machine while they were using the victim’s bank card.

The victim, Teresa Toole, 54, had arrived to report to work at Bealls, police said. After parking her car and locking her purse in the trunk, a black male jumped out of a car that had pulled up, brandished a handgun and hit her in the head, according to the police report.

The suspect demanded the purse and the victim opened the trunk and complied. He then demanded the PIN number to her bank card while pointing the gun at her. He said the PIN number better be right or “I will come back and … kill you,” the report said. He then told her to get into her vehicle while yelling and pointing the gun.

The suspect rummaged through the center console of the victim’s car while the other suspect, also a black male, yelled from their car for him to hurry up.

The suspects left the parking lot, traveling east on West Granada Boulevard.

The suspect with the gun was described as five feet, nine inches tall and 160 pounds.

The victim lost a wallet, house and car keys, I-phone, driver’s license and several cards. A relative took her to a hospital.

An unidentified Bealls employee said she saw a car parked in a nearby bank parking lot shortly before the incident.
