UPDATE: 12:05 a.m. Sept. 24:
A 75-year-old woman who called 911 Sept. 23 saying she believed she'd shot and killed her husband has been charged with murder. Detectives believe the woman, Anna Pehota, shot her husband John S. Pehota, 77, after an argument, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
Anna Pehota, a resident of the Hammock area, called the Sheriff's Office about the shooting at about 4:32 p.m., and deputies arrived minutes later and found John Pehota shot to death inside the couple's mobile home.
"Deputies quickly secured the wife without incident and took her to the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division for questioning," according to the news release. "Detectives determined the wife shot and killed her husband without provocation following an argument in the trailer."
Deputies got a warrant and searched the home — at 132 Sanchez Avenue, in a wooded area between the Intracoastal and Oceanshore Boulevard — finding a firearm detectives believe Anna Pehota used to kill her husband.
Deputies processed the crime scene late the night of Sept. 23, and the medical examiner's office removed John Pehota's body from the home.
The Pehota home has been the source of repeated calls to the Sheriff's Office in recent years, but none of the previous calls were violent in nature, according to the Sheriff's Office news release. There were five calls from the address since 2011, the most recent of which was in July, according to the release.
Anna Pehota has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, and is being held without bail at the Flagler County jail.
There have been no other documented cases of murder in Flagler County this year.

An elderly woman has been detained by Sheriff's Office deputies in connection with her husband's death after calling 911 the afternoon of Sept. 23 saying she believed she'd shot and killed him. Detectives who drove out to the couple's home found the man dead.
The woman called the Sheriff's Office at about 4:32 p.m., Sheriff's Office spokesman James Troiano said, and deputies arrived at the couple's mobile home at 132 Sanchez Avenue in the Hammock area just west of Oceanshore Boulevard about six minutes later.
Deputies cleared the home, and Troiano said he believed there were no other people in the home when they arrived.
Deputies detained the woman. "She's being interviewed by detectives," Troiano said. "She is not under arrest at this time." The names of the woman and her husband have been withheld pending notification of kin.
As of 7:15 p.m., deputies were waiting for a warrant to begin forensics processing of the home and remove the man's body. Troiano said the Sheriff's Office could not yet release information about any possible weapon involved, or about the nature of the man's death. Both the woman and the man are in their late 70s, Troiano said.
