A stabbing on the night of Sept. 12 in a bar on North U.S. 1 left one man injured and another behind bars after he was found with blood on his hands and clothes.

The suspect, 51-year-old Harry Goldsborough, of Bunnell, was charged with aggravated battery shortly after 2 a.m. and taken to the Flagler County Jail, according to Andrew Gant, spokesman for Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, 34-year-old Duane Weeks, suffered a stab wound to the leg and was rushed to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where he was listed in stable condition the next morning.

Volusia County sheriff’s deputies responded around 1:25 a.m. to Annie Oakley’s Saloon, 1481 N. U.S. 1, after receiving a report of a fight. Witnesses said two men were in an altercation on the rear patio deck of the bar, with Weeks throwing a large trash can at Goldsborough, and Goldsborough stabbing Weeks in the leg.

Goldsborough left the bar in a pickup truck immediately after the incident. The bar’s owner used a bystander’s shirt to tie off Weeks’ wound and control the bleeding, Gant said.

The Sheriff’s Office put out a witness description of Goldsborough and his vehicle, and an officer with the Bunnell Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a truck matching the description. A deputy brought witnesses to the scene of the traffic stop to identify Goldsborough, who had a substantial amount of blood on his hands and clothing. They confirmed he was the suspect in the stabbing, Gant said.

Goldsborough was being held in the Flagler County Jail on $2,500 bond as of Sept. 13.
