The Green Lantern, Olaf and the Flagler Beach Fire Department were among the participants in the sixth-annual Flagler Fun Coast Bed Race held Saturday, Nov. 8, in Flagler Beach.

The event is a joint partnership with Flagler Volunteer Services, the Flagler/Palm Coast Kiwanis Club, Wheels in Motion and the city of Flagler Beach to raise funds for children and youth programs in Flagler County.

The event combines building a creative and study bed suitable for racing, and on race day, booking it down the street with your team and knocking out challenges at four pit stops for the fastest time.

Winners of the event are as follows: Most beautiful, Matanzas High School Leo Club; Most creative, Sea Ray Boats; Parade funniest, Flagler Palm Coast High School Key Cub; What were you thinking, FPC Leo’s Club; Fat sack, MHS Key Club; Sleeping in, MHS Key Club; third place, Flagler Schools; second place, Sea Ray; and first place, FPC Leo Club.
