Kiwanis Club gives $26,000 in scholarships

The Flagler/Palm Coast Kiwanis Club recognized excellence in education Thursday, May 1, at its 11th-annual Education Recognition Luncheon, held at the Hilton Garden Inn.

This year, the club awarded a total of $26,000 in scholarships to graduating Flagler County seniors. Top scholarships were awarded to Seniors of the Year Benjamin Jones, of Flagler Palm Coast High School, and Cassandra Cuyler, of Matanzas High School; and Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship winner Brooke Manze. Other scholarship winners are as follows: Key Club Scholarship: Ashli Phillips; Kiwanis Club Scholarship: Addison Eggert, Michael Safarty and Cassandra Ehrismann; Robert Osner Kiwanis Scholarship: Brandon Eng and Alexanser Crouch; and Kiwanis Foundation Book Scholarship: Sabrina Goretiti, Safarty and Cuyler.

The 2014 teachers of the year were also honored at the lunch.
