Get in on city's 'Find Your Florida 2014 Photo Contest'

Show what makes Palm Coast special to you, in photographs! The city of Palm Coast will hold the Find Your Florida 2014 Photography Contest from March 1 through May 31. Prizes will be awarded, and photographs submitted for the contest will be used by the city for marketing, promotion and public relations purposes.

The theme of the contest is “Find Your Florida in Palm Coast.” Examples of what the city is looking for include family fun at festivals, sports activities, cultural clubs and organizations, and at parks and on trails; active lifestyles and nature shots will also be accepted.

New officers installed for AACS
Palm Coast City Councilman Bill Lewis installed officers of the African American Cultural Society for the years 2014 and 2015.

Officers are as follows: President Stephanie Ecklin, Chaplain James Allen, Corresponding Secretary Melinda Morais, Recording Secretary Joseph Matthews, Acting Financial Secretary and Treasurer Victor Krause, First Vice President Sybil Dodson-Lucas, Second-Vice President Stephanie Robinson, Hope Swire, Parliamentarian Herman Price, Sergeant-at-arms James Reid, Board of Directors Chairwoman Vivian Richardson, Board Co-chairman Edmund G. Pinto Jr., and Directors Shirley Jacob, Cynthia Bachoo and retired Col. G. Henry Williams, Lynda Baten, James Sharpe and Barbara Solomon.
 

Scholarship available for college students
The Flagler Branch of The American Association of Women will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships for continuing college students for the 2014-15 academic year. These scholarships are available to female residents of Flagler County enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study.
