Mastering winter, one marshmallow-snowball at a time

With January temperatures nearing 70 degrees, teaching Floridian kindergartners about the winter season can sometimes prove troublesome.

“For some students, it’s hard to relate when we are wearing flip-flops,” said Wadsworth Elementary teacher Joanna Hughes.

So Hughes and the other kindergarten teachers at Wadsworth Elementary School came up with a way to incorporate a “snowball” fight into their unit Monday, with lots and lots of marshmallows.
