A suspect is in custody.

Ormond Beach Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the PNC Bank, 128 E. Granada Blvd., according to spokesman Lt. James Crimins. A suspect has been arrested.

At 4:43 p.m. on Aug. 7, a lone male suspect walked into the bank. He implied he had a weapon and demanded cash from the teller. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot.

Ormond Beach Police units were assisted by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies, helicopter, K-9 units and Beach Patrol in a search for the suspect.

The suspect was described as a white male, 25-30 years of age, with a beard and red, straight hair. He was said to be five feet, five inches tall and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and plaid shorts.

The K-9 unit found the suspect’s shirt approximately one block from the bank. Shortly thereafter, the Beach Patrol captured a suspect matching the description behind the Cove hotel. He has been identified as Mitchell Lee Seabold.

Ormond Beach detectives arrested the suspect.
