OUR TOWN: Lakes of Pine Run hosts first Fishing Derby

Over 20 local kids were reeled in to the homeowners association’s first-ever Fishing Derby Saturday.

Young anglers from Ormond Beach casted out their poles Saturday at The Lakes Of Pine Run Condominium Association HOA’s first annual Fishing Derby. Over 20 kids participated in the event where the association provided hot dogs, snacks, soft drinks, fishing poles and bait. A few first timers even caught their first fish. Residents of the community assisted as volunteers.

“HOA sponsored a fishing derby open to everyone,” Harold Puterbaugh, local resident, said in an email. “Many people worked very hard in setting this up and volunteering. A very good time was had by all.”
