Pink Army 5K raises $7,500

More than 550 people ran and walked in Florida Hospital Flagler’s third-annual Pink Army 5K Sunday, October 13, helping to raise nearly $7,500 for screening mammograms, diagnostic studies and education for local uninsured women.

Last year’s 5K raised $2,800.

Chamber graduates 21st Leadership Flagler class

The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce graduated its 21st Leadership Flagler class Nov. 15.

The three-month class is intended to enhance participants’ understanding of the county and encourage graduates to be advocates for positive change.

Graduates include: David Alfin, Watson Realty; Michelle Brown, Flagler Beach Gift Shop; Lauren Dye, Florida Hospital Flagler; Christine Gardner, Flagler County Chamber of Commerce; Lori Genk, The Bailey Group; Trish Giaccone, Family Life Center; Alexandra Jennings, United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties Inc.; Chad Lingenfelter, city of Flagler Beach; Maritssa Vazquez Zedar, ParkSide Realty Group - Sam Perkovich.

Leadership Flagler has graduated more than 210 professionals since its start in 1993.

Gallery of Local Art to hold ribbon-cutting ceremony

The Gallery of Local Art will have a ribbon cutting ceremony 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at 208 S. Central Ave., in Flagler Beach.

The ceremony, for the Gallery's new Gola Gardens featuring arts and crafts from over 58 artists, will be put on by the Flagler Chamber of Commerce.

Refreshments will be provided by Kokomo's Restaurant.
