Kiwanis Club honors scholarship recipients, teachers of the year

The Flagler/Palm Coast Kiwanis Club gave more than $30,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in Flagler County this year. Those recipients, as well as the 2013 teachers of the year, were invited last week to be celebrated by the Kiwanis Club at the 10th-annual Education Recognition Luncheon.

Among the scholarship winners were the Flagler Palm Coast and Matanzas high schools Senior of the Year Scholarship winners Maeve Dineen and Cheyanna Espinoza. Leah Blizard was awarded the Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship, which was a competitive scholarship.

Other scholarship winners are as follows: FPC Key Club Scholarship, Nicholas Ohree and Dineen; FPC Kiwanis Club Scholarship, Elizabeth Kelly and Samantha Thibodeau; Matanzas Kiwanis Club Scholarship, Evan Johnson; ROBERT Osner Kiwanis Scholarship, Leydiana Martin and Ryan Roberts; Maria Ruark Kiwanis Memorial Scholarship, Lianna Chanin-Santiago; and Kiwanis Foundation Book Scholarships, Elizabeth Sherman, Agata Sokolska and Ohree.
