+ National recording artist to perform at Taste of Flagler
David Lane will be performing at the 20th-annual Taste of Flagler. The singer-songwriter has local roots from performing his country rock in Flagler County while he was getting his start in the music industry. Lane is originally from Darien, Ga., and moved to Nashville, Tenn., in 2006. Lane signed with the independent label MuSick Recordings in 2012 and released his debut album last fall.

Taste of Flagler starts at 5:30 p.m. April 20 and showcases culinary creations prepared by Flagler County’s leading chefs. The event is held at Central Park. General admission is $5 and children younger than 12 are admitted for free. Guests can purchase tickets for $1 each, which are traded to sample portions of entrées, desserts and appetizers. Beer, wine and other drinks will be available for purchase.

+ Funky Hour brings deals

The newest addition to one of Flagler Beach’s newest restaurants is here: From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily, the Funky Pelican now offers a Funky Hour menu, with specials on both food and drinks.

The menu included Bud Light draft, $1.50; FL Lager draft, $2.50; domestic bottles, $2; import bottles, $3; house wine $3; premium well drinks, $4; Toasted Barge, $4; Baby Pelican’s Nest, $4; Funky Feast, $10.

The Funky Pelican is at 215 State Road A1A in Flagler Beach.

+ New hours, new TV at Hammock Wine and Cheese
The owners at Hammock Wine and Cheese Shoppe set up a 42-inch flat screen TV. It will be showing the remaining games in March Madness at the store.

The shop now operates under new hours, which took effect March 19. The store is now closed Mondays, open from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
