The Casements will display the Ormond Beach Art Guild's latest exhibit, focusing on winter and the holidays, through the rest of 2013.

The Ormond Beach Art Guild exhibited its holiday lineup during its opening reception Friday, at The Casements. The gallery included paintings in watercolor, acrylic, pastels and oil.

A turnout of about 50 to 75 people made for a successful event, according to Casements staff member Kathy Wisler.

"The gallery showed how different artists do different things," Wisler said. "It's important for people to express themselves."

Skip Peirce-Eby, who has been involved with the Ormond Beach Art Guild for about 30 years, said The Casements invites them to do about two shows per year. Friday's exhibit focused on winter, Christmas and the holidays.

Peirce-Eby used to be an architect; now, she paints landscapes and buildings usually with watercolor.

"I think it is a very talented, good group of women," Peirce-Eby said. "Everybody is interested in their art, and it is not just a game. They are serious about it, and they work hard."

The exhibit will be shown at The Casements until Dec. 31.
