+ Authentic Thai food comes to Palm Coast

You can’t tell the difference between the food at the Bangkok House and the food in Thailand, said owner Joseph Vitale, because the chefs at the Bangkok House are all originally from Thailand.

Vitale opened the restaurant in June with co-owners Supakhon Dilophaet (who is also a chef), Kamphol Poonork and Thanakorn Kraiprasit.

Currently, the restaurant serves a thai menu with a full bar, but soon, it will have a sushi bar as well.
The Bangkok House is located in the building that formally housed Taste of Portugal, where Vitale was a regular. Because of that, he and his partners have kept Taste of Portugal’s tradition of playing salsa music on weekends alive. Every first and second Saturday of the month, music and dancing is available for a $5 cover charge (with the cover charge comes a free drink at the bar).

Keeping the salsa music helped draw in some former regulars, Vitale said.
“We’ve still got a lot of the same people coming in,” he said. “They know the place, they know they people. It’s been fun.”

The Bangkok House is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. On salsa nights, the restaurant stays open later. Call 246-0808.

+ Grace’s Place now serving dinner
