PCUMC to host Bethune-Cookman president

Palm Coast United Methodist Church will host Dr. Edison O. Jackson, new president of Bethune-Cookman University, Sunday, April 7.

Jackson hails from Heathsville, Va. and holds a master of arts from Howard University, a master of divinity from New York Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in education from Rutgers University. Jackson has been the recipient of numerous service awards, including the Rutgers University Distinguished Service Award, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award and the YMCA Lifetime Community Service Award.

Jackson will be preaching at the 9 a.m. service at the church, 5200 Belle Terre Parkway, as part of the celebration honoring new members and the special ministry fair highlighting service opportunities at PCUMC.

St. Elizabeth hold health and wellness fair
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church will host a community health and wellness fair 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the church. The event is free and open to the public.

Representatives will provide informational screenings, including eye and hearing tests and glucose level and blood pressure screenings.
