The Palm Coast United Methodist Church and the Palm Coast Arts Foundation will co-sponsor a Gala Concert featuring concert pianist Elena Ulyanova at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the United Methodist Church, 5200 Belle Terre Parkway.

Ulyanova is a young Russian virtuosa who is a renowned performer of Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.

Born in Saki, Ukraine, she started playing the piano at 5. Ulyanova comes from a family of talented artists. Her mother was her first piano teacher, her father was a renowned Russian ballet dancer, and her brother was a sculptor. Her studies included the famed Moscow Conservatory.

Besides her regular concerts in the United States, Ulyanova has performed throughout Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Austria, Korea, Netherlands, China, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania.

Ulyanova moved to the United States from the Ukraine eight years ago and now resides in Pennsylvania. She says she loves playing to American audiences because the reaction from them is much more relaxed and warmer than in Russia.

Tickets are available by calling 263-2991.
