The North East Florida Dance Academy will perform its 2012 recital 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Flagler Auditorium.

Dancers ages 2 and up will perform a variety of routines centered around the theme of food.

But the recital is just a warm-up for 12 of the dance academy’s students who are preparing to perform June 11 through June 15 on Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas. This is the second year the dance school has been invited.

Dancers who will be setting sail are Mikaela Abbruscato, Maria Barletta, Leah Blizard, Jill Knazur, Caleb Krassner, Amber Leishman, Autumn Leishman, Sylvia Lujo, Collin McLellan, Emily Mercer, Emily Mooneyhan and Isabella Pancrazio. They will be accompanied by teachers Nicole Hodges and Megan Lowe, as well as family and friends.

While on ship, the young dancers will also take classes with professional dancers.
