The Northeast Florida Area Health Education Center Tobacco Program Manager Vicki Evans presented Pamela Cudlin, Florida Hospital Flagler Core Lab Supervisor and Tobacco Cessation Program Leader, with a bronze plate for the hospital’s Quit Smoking Now Patient Care Award Plaque.

Cudlin accepted the award on behalf of Verna Goodridge, Florida Hospital Flagler Tobacco Cessation Facilitator. Goodridge meets one-on-one with inpatients who are tobacco users. By spending this time with patients, Goodridge has encouraged 261 patients to join the Quit Smoking Now cessation program at the hospital.

With the help of Goodridge and Cudlin, Florida Hospital Flagler remains dedicated to a healthy, tobacco-free future and is working towards earning the silver plate, awarded for 1,000 referrals.

Quit Smoking Now is a free six-week program that provides support, guidance and resources to help smokers quit. Sessions are led by a trained facilitator and provide free nicotine replacement products – patches, lozenges or gum. The next session begins January 3. For more information or to register, call
