A book signing and discussion local author Bill Ryan’s newest book Bulow Gold will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the BeachHouse Beanery, 202 S. Central Ave., Flagler Beach.

Bulow Gold is the fourth book on a series about The Old Kings Road. Events along the old roadway built by the British prior to the American revolution appear with characters and events he describes as researched historical fiction.

The ruined Bulow plantation in Flagler County was one of the richest in Florida. Ryan uses the character
of Aunty Mary, Bulow’s slave housekeeper to tell the story. “She was real, as are all my characters,” he said.
