Civil rights icon Andrew Young, ordained minister and top aide to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will be keynote speaker for the African American Cultural Society's 20th Anniversary 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Matanzas High School Auditorium, 3535 Old Kings Road N.

Young served in the United States Congress and as United States Ambassador to the United Nations during the Carter Administration.

He is founding principal and chair of GoodWorks International, which facilitates economic development in the Caribbean and Africa. Young’s work has taken him to more than 150 countries, including 48 of 53 countries in Africa.

Young is the author of two books, A Way Out of No Way and An Easy Burden, and co-author of, Walk in My Shoes, and recently received the Emmy Lifetime Achievement.

Following the auditorium presentation, there will be a reception and entertainment 4 p.m., at the African American Cultural Society, 4422 North U.S. 1.

A Sunday combo ticket for Ambassador Young, at the Matanzas Auditorium and the reception following is $60. Preferred seating at the auditorium only is $30; general seating is $15. Students ages 14-23 with IDs will be admitted free; however, seating is limited.

Other events happening this weekend are:

Florida's Haunted Trails -- 6-10 p.m. Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 at The Florida Agricultural Museum, 900 Old Kings Road N. There will be wagon rides, haunted houses, story tellers, carnival games for kids, headless horsemen, magic shows, face painting, the singing pumpkin show, food and drinks. Admission is $8, kids under 5 free. Call 446-7630.

Motown and Mo' -- 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1. A musical voyage on “The Love Boat”. Tickets are $20. Call 445-0985 or 793-5208.

Flagler Bad Boy Wrestling Club Golf Tournament -- 8:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Grand Reserve and Golf Club, 400 Grand Reserve Drive, Bunnell. The fee is $65 per person. All proceeds benefit the wrestling club.

Bazzar, Bake Sale and Lunch -- 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach. Hosted by the United Methodist Women, the event will feature veggie beef soup, hand-made crafts, silk flower arrangements and wreaths along with some new items. Call 439-2160.

Make a Difference Day -- 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Family Life Center. Benefits parents and children who are victims of domestic violence. To donate or volunteer call 503-3436 or email [email protected].

Rotary 5K and Charity Walk -- 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Veterans Park, Flagler Beach. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both male and female categories. Family Fun and Safety Day -- 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Florida Hospital Flagler 60 Memorial Medical Parkway. There will be events for kids and families. Plaques presented to each of the Fire Chiefs in Flagler County. Call 586-4216.
