The Flagler County Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution voted to present a Flag Certificate to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696 on Old Kings Road, in Palm Coast.
The Flag Certificate is presented to individuals, companies and government agencies that fly the U.S. flag for patriotic purposes only. The VFW consistently flies the U.S. flag, according to the rules governing its display. Flagler Sons of the American Revolution President Theodore St. Pierre presented the certificate to VFW Post 8696 Commander Terry Howard.
The SAR also recently swore in a new member, Ron Stark. Stark has eight patriot ancestors who served in the Revolutionary War.
He is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom I, III and V, in both the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army, as he carries on his family’s long tradition of patriotic service.
