Maitland drops 20 points, leads Bulldogs past Seabreeze

Freshman guard Malik Maitland is off to a quick start for the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs basketball team.

Maitland powered the Bulldogs to the first win of the season, defeating Seabreeze, 66-47, Monday night.

Maitland dropped 20 points on the Sandcrabs, nine of which came from his three 3-pointers.

This is the second straight game Maitland has led Bulldogs scorers.

Also in the game, T.J. Alexander scored 11 points, Tyler Hopkins added eight, Chris Lubin had seven and Markel McCall had six points.

FPC coach Gary McDaniel said his team got off to another slow start, but managed to sort things out.

“We got out act together in the second quarter and forced some turnovers that turned into some transition buckets on our end,” McDaniel said.

The Bulldogs play again 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at home againat Mandarin.
