The following is an adapted press release from the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates:

The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates announced that a new regional street map is available at the chamber’s office, 20 Airport Road, Palm Coast.

The map covers all of Flagler County, including Beverly Beach, Bunnell, Flagler Beach, Marineland and Palm Coast. It also highlights local parks, schools, shopping centers and other points of interest.

Despite the popularity of GPS or Internet-mapping programs, the number of people requesting a street map from the chamber each month has increased dramatically in the past year. Therefore, the chamber’s board agreed it was a good time to get back into the map-publishing business after a four-year hiatus.

For this most recent version, the chamber partnered with member G.I.S. Dolph Map LLC, to obtain the map files, and then collaborated with three local municipalities to ensure the accuracy of the map and the local street index. Local businesses, community partners and municipalities purchased advertising space on the map to help offset printing costs.

“As real estate values started to decline, we saw less demand for maps,” Doug Baxter, president of the chamber, said. “Four years later, we’re seeing signs of local home sales picking up, and we’ve learned one of the first things a newcomer or visitor wants is a map. It’s our hope the maps will make exploring and getting to know Flagler County more enjoyable for new residents and visitors. Thank you to our advertisers and local cities for making this possible.”

The map is available for $3 plus tax ($3.21), and can be purchased at the chamber office.

For more information, call the chamber at 437-0106.
