In addition to the traditional music in Veterans Park to be performed by Me ’n’ Ted, Flagler Beach’s May 6 First Friday event will also feature 25 tables designated for business owners in the downtown area.

“(The event) has kind of died down, and now it’s business owners that are trying to promote it,” said Carla Cline, who has recently become involved in the event planning. “I just feel like this place is awesome, and I got involved because I’m passionate about Flagler.”

This month’s event will also feature a cardboard castle building contest and an antique car show.

Members of the Cookbook Project, a community service project created to increase awareness about world hunger, will also be in attendance.

“It’s important for people to get involved in their community,” Cline said. “It’s not just important for business but important for people who live here to try to unify and make this place an open-arms loving town.”
