As part of the Flagler Auditorium’s Holiday Extravaganza, students from Flagler Palm Coast High School got a chance to hang their art in the black box theater Dec. 15, for a competition.

An awards presentation took place Sunday, Dec. 18.

“The show is just a chance to show off the wonderful artwork the kids have been working on,” said Ed Beckett, graphic design/photography instructor at FPC. “We don’t get too many chances to showcase our kids’ stuff, so we kind of made our own opportunity.”

The Holiday Extravaganza is a conglomeration of several forms of art, from band to chorus, dance, theater and visual arts. A two-week event, it raised about $12,000 in its inaugural year, to benefit the school’s fine arts department, as well send four students to summer art camps and fund a scholarship.

This year, an arts grant program will be started with the proceeds.
