This Weekend: Snow globe, parade light up Town Center

This weekend, a 15-foot inflatable clear snow globe, large enough to fit Santa and your family, will adorn Central Park in Town Center Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10.

It will snow around the globe 5-10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, with a free movie, “Polar Express,” being shown adjacent in the park, beginning at dusk.

The celebration will continue noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, with guests, food vendors, musical performances and letter writing to Santa.

Photos in the globe for up to five people will be available for $8.

The Holiday Starlight Parade will begin to circle the park at dusk, with over 85 sparkling floats and marching bands.

Prizes will be awarded to the best of parade, best float, best marching band and best decorated vehicle. Residents can bring portable chairs to set around the parade route.

Other events happening this weekend:
Kids' Closet — 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, in the Belle Terre Elementary cafeteria, 5545 Belle Terre Parkway. Each item of clothing will cost a quarter. Bring reusable shopping bags or laundry baskets to carry your clothes. Donations of all sizes will be accepted. Call 447-1500.


Christmas Concert — 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 North Central Avenue, Flagler Beach. Call 439-2791.

‘The Nutcracker’ — 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Flagler Auditorium, 5500 E. State Road 100. Dance Alive’s National Ballet will perform, along with some of Flagler County’s dance students. Tickets are $24 for adults, $18 for youth. Call 437-7547 or visit www.flaglerauditorium.org.

‘A Christmas Carol’ — 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 9 to Dec. 11 and Dec. 16 to Dec. 18, at the Flagler Playhouse, 301 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell. Call 586-0773 or visit www.flaglerplayhouse.com.

Holiday in the Gardens — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 North Oceanshore Blvd. Children can enjoy the Holidays around the World Playground, arts and crafts, face painting, games and prizes. Christmas Party Celebration — 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the VFW, 47 Old Kings Road N. Hosted by the Philippine American Association of Palm Coast. The cost is $30 for adults and $10 for children under 13. Call 585-3886.
