As Santa descended onto the beach Saturday, Dec. 3, swarms of kids ran across the sand to greet him.

Santa’s parachuting grand entrance was the beginning of the Holiday at the Beach Parade, presented by the Flagler Beach Chamber of Commerce, Flagler County Tourist Development Council, city of Flagler Beach, Flagler Beach Historical Museum, Flagler Beach Rotary Club, Rue & Ziffra and Bright House Networks.

The parade’s theme was Flagler’s Got Talent, which encouraged participants to also perform in front of the judges table.

The Imagine Spirit Team took home the big prize, winning best of parade for its energetic cheer, dance and stunt performance.

But Imagine wasn’t the only talented team. Best talent was awarded to 3’N Motion, with the Matanzas High School dance team taking second place and Palm Coast Roller Derby third.

Best marching was awarded to the Flagler Palm Coast High School Marching Band, with the Sea Goddess belly dancers winning second, and the Golden Sands Girl Scouts third.

Flagler Beach United Methodist Church won best holiday theme for its live baby Jesus, while second place went to the Phun Coast Parrot Heads; third place went to the Palm Coast Moose Lodge 2577.

Judges’ choice first place was awarded to Roger’s Towing. The Flagler Turtle Patrol took second place, and Anthony’s Bobcat and Tree Service third.
