For four years, Lisa McDevitt, director of the Flagler Auditorium, has vigorously worked to get the Flagler Palm Coast High School band and chorus to collaborate for a series of holiday events.

All that hard work will be on display this year, as the Flagler Auditorium presents its first Holiday Extravaganza.

Holiday Extravaganza 2010 will be a holiday festival to benefit the Arts in Education program at the school. The celebration will feature many local organizations and partners in the community to support the school district.

“Everything is an investment in the community,” McDevitt said. “It’s growing every day.”

The auditorium is also putting on “Deck the Halls and Deck the Walls.” Since Nov. 15, decorated Christmas trees and wreaths have been on display in the lobby and auditorium. The trees and wreaths will be sponsored by businesses and organizations around the county to support Arts in Education. All of the items will be for sale, McDevitt said. Any of the trees or wreaths not sold will be auctioned off Dec. 11 and Dec. 12.

The auditorium will also be the drop-off location for items until Dec. 12, for the following organizations: The Giving Store, S.T.U.F.F. BUS and the food pantry.
