The annual Senior Walk the Halls event at Flagler Palm Coast High School is a little taste of what graduates, families, school administrators and faculty will be feeling on graduation day May 31, FPC Principal Bobby Bossardet said.
The graduating seniors gathered in the school's 800 gym on the afternoon of May 15 and walked the hallways for the last time, stopping along the way to say goodbye to teachers, staff and administrators.
"Everybody gets choked up," Bossardet said. "It hits home when it's their last walk through the halls. They turned in their computers, so it gets real. Seeing all that hard work and investment on both sides — the students and teachers and staffers — is rewarding."
FPC's graduation will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. Matanzas High School's graduation will be 2 p.m. May 31 at the Ocean Center.
Seniors also have the opportunity to walk the halls of their elementary schools in events scheduled at the various schools from May 19-22.
