Takeya Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar in Ormond Beach has closed.
The restaurant announced its closure with the following statement on its Facebook page on Monday, May 11:
"After more than 40 years in the restaurant business, we have decided that it is time to step back and allow other entrepreneurs to begin a new chapter for the iconic Takeya building. Therefore, with a bittersweet sentiment, we are announcing the closure of Takeya Japanese Steak House.
"We are deeply grateful for your support, loyalty, and the many memories we’ve shared over the years," the post continued. "It has been an honor to serve you and be part of this community."
The restaurant was located at 220 N. Williamson Blvd. It is the latest restaurant in the Williamson corridor in Ormond Beach to close in recent months. Applebee's closed in March.
