Free trees, a butterfly release and festivities dedicated to promoting nature and sustainability were at the center of Palm Coast's 21st annual Arbor Day Celebration, held on Saturday, May 2, at Central Park in Town Center.
Attendees received a free 3-gallon tree, courtesy of Flowing Well Tree Farm, in exchange for a donation of a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. People could also enjoy a walk through the butterfly tent, a butterfly release, performance by the Soccer Collies and food and beverages.
“Each year, Arbor Day inspires us to reconnect with nature and with one another,” said City of Palm Coast Urban Forester Carol Mini in a press release. “The 21st annual celebration builds on that legacy with new experiences, meaningful environmental action, and a renewed sense of community pride."
