Plan to Prosper Wealth Management and Founder Erick Palacios were announced to the Gator100 for the second year in a row.
The Gator100 honor recognizes Plan to Prosper as one of the 100 fastest growing businesses led by University of Florida alumni.
"It is absolutely an amazing blessing to be honored by the Gator100 again this year," Palacios said in a press release. "Ultimately the recognition goes to my amazing family, friends and of course, our wonderful clients — all of whom have helped make it possible. Go Gators!"
Palacios will also now have two daughters studying at UF.
Plan to Prosper has been based in Ormond Beach since 2023. When not working, Palacios is volunteering with his son’s Boy Scout Troop 403, Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Hope Community Health Center, as well as with Ormond Rotary and the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce, of which he is past president.
Halifax Health recently welcomed to its team Dr. Caren Wilkie, a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship‑trained breast surgical oncologist with a focus on benign and malignant breast disease and high-risk breast conditions.
Wilkie brings decades of surgical experience, academic accomplishment, and military service to Halifax Health, according to a press release. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine after graduating summa cum laude from Emory University. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Florida Shands Teaching Hospital, where she also served as chief resident, and later pursued advanced fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center.
In addition to her civilian medical career, Dr. Wilkie served with distinction in the United States Air Force Medical Corps, achieving the rank of Major and receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal. She also served as a missionary surgeon in Uganda and held leadership roles including Chief of General Surgery at Gallup Indian Medical Center.
Her clinical interests include breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and multidisciplinary management of breast cancer. She is certified in breast ultrasound and has presented and published research nationally on developments in breast surgery and oncology.
