Flagler Palm Coast High School celebrated its Class of 2026 at its Academic Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 27. A total of 275 seniors earned the new Diploma Plus distinction through industry certifications, dual enrollment, Advanced Placement or the International Baccalaureate program.
Among the students receiving honors were 80 Summa Cum Laude (GPAs of 4.5 and above), 55 Magna Cum Laude (4.0-4.49 GPA), 35 Cum Laude (3.75-3.99 GPA). FPC's 10 Seniors of the Month and top 10 GPA achievers were also honored. Medallions and IB stoles were presented.
Flagler Schools Language Arts Specialist Kristin Frank and Rymfire Elementary School students helped unveil the city of Palm Coast's newest Little Free Library at Ralph Carter Park on April 23.
The Little Free Libraries provide children and adults an easy way to take a book, leave a book and share the joy of reading with others.
The Flagler Palm Coast Kiwanis Club recognized its Flagler Palm Coast and Matanzas Seniors of the Month from February through May at its April 22 luncheon meeting.
Teachers and administrators from the two high schools select a student each month for the honor. Kiwanis Club board member Frank Consentino and new awards chair Stephanie Ellis presented the awards. Parents and school staff were also in attendance.
The students shared their individual accomplishments and their college and career plans. They each received a stipend and certificate.
The Matanzas Seniors of the Month: Eva Luis for February, Mia Katherina Apfelbach for March, Jordyn Crews for April and Madison Terry for May.
The FPC Seniors of the Month: Syed Haider for February, Aasi Bharucha for March, Violet Radoncipi for April and Ava Mello for May.
The Matanzas High School Wind Ensemble and the Flagler Palm Coast High School Symphonic Band 1 earned Superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association State Concert Band Music Performance Assessment.
Three Matanzas chorus soloists performed at the state Solo and Ensemble with two earning Superior ratings and one earning an Excellent rating. The school's SSAB chorus earned a Central State Concert Superior rating. Eight Flagler Palm Coast soloists and the Tenor Bass Ensemble earned Superior ratings.
The FPC Formality Women's Chorus earned a Superior rating and the Formality Singers Mixed Chorus earned an Excellent rating.
Ta'Kyra Grimes, a member of Flagler Palm Coast's High Tech program, has been selected for the Able Trust Foundation RISE Scholarship covering a full year of tuition.
