A 34-year-old Holly Hill woman was killed in a crash in Ormond Beach while on the way home from church on Sunday, April 26.

Ormond Beach Police reported that at around 11:47 a.m., officers responded to the crash at the intersection of South Orchard Street and Cherrywood Drive involving an SUV and a sedan. The SUV was driven by Rebekah Petrick, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Petrick was a member of Harbor Baptist Church, where her father is the pastor. According to posts on social media by church members, Petrick was headed home after church with her grandmother.

Bot Petrick's grandmother and the driver of the sedan, whom police did not identify, were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital. The driver of the sedan is cooperating with the investigation, police reported.

“Our thoughts are with everyone involved,” Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey said. “This remains an active investigation, and we are diligently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.”

Petrick was a marketing director for Chick-fil-A, where she participated in community outreach events. She also taught a children's class at her church and sang in a musical group with her family.
