Backwater Provisions, a new fishing apparel and outdoor lifestyle gear store, celebrated its grand opening in Ormond Beach on May 10.
The store is located at 177 E. Granada Blvd., inside Granada Plaza on the beachside. It is the company's second storefront, with its first being located in the Tampa area, in Safety Harbor.
“We’re excited to plant roots in Ormond Beach, a place that embodies everything our brand
stands for— salt air, local pride, and a passion for adventure,” said Darren Loscalzo, founder and owner of Backwater Provisions, in a press release. “Granada Plaza is the perfect spot to connect with locals and travelers alike, offering the gear they need for life outdoors and creating a space where community thrives.”
The store carries outdoor brands such as YETI, Traeger, AFTCO, Marsh Wear, Free Fly, and its own branded apparel, as well as fishing apparel and equipment brands such as Penn, Starr and Florida Fishing Products. Backwater Provisions will also carry locally inspired merchandise.
The Ormond store's franchise owner is Tony Puglia.
“Opening this store in Ormond Beach is a dream realized,” he said in the press release. “This town lives the lifestyle we’re here to support — fishing, exploring, connecting. Backwater Provisions is more than a store; it's a hub for people who share a love of the outdoors.”
Backwater Provisions is open daily: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
