Seabreeze tennis teams win district, host regional semifinals

The Sandcrabs' boys and girls teams will play at the Embry-Riddle tennis courts at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 22.

The Seabreeze boys and girls tennis teams won the District 6-3A tournaments on April 17 at Red Bug Lake Park in Casselberry and are scheduled to host regional semifinal matches on Tuesday, April 22, at the Embry-Riddle tennis courts.

The Sandcrabs will face the two District 5 runners-up at 3 p.m. The Seabreeze boys will meet Gainesville High while the girls will take on Lake Buena Vista.

The winners will advance to the Region 2-3A finals on Thursday, April 24. The boys winner will meet the winner of the East River-Innovation match. The girls winner will face the winner of the Orlando Edgewater-Gainesville match.

The Sandcrabs are aiming to reach the state championships April 28-30 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, but two Seabreeze players have already clinched automatic berths in the individual competition. Riya Arab won the No. 1 singles title at district and Arab and Leena Harman won the district's No. 1 doubles title. Those titles automatically qualify them for the individual brackets at the state tournament.
