Jacksonville motorcycle driver dies after crash near Ormond Beach

The 62-year-old man crashed on Walter Boardman Lane on March 11.

A 62-year-old Jacksonville man died last week after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash on March 11 near Ormond Beach.

Florida Highway Patrol reported that the man was driving his motorcycle eastbound on Walter Boardman Lane around 7 p.m. the night of the crash when he ran off the roadway and overturned onto the south shoulder. He was thrown off his motorcycle.

The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He died due to his injuries on March 24.

The crash took place during the Bike Week event period, which ran from March 3-12.
