As lawmakers prepared for the annual legislative session, a political committee led by House Speaker Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast, raised more than $534,000 in February, according to a newly filed finance report.

The Conservatives for Principled Leadership committee raised $534,500 and had about $1.67 million in cash on hand as of Feb. 28, the report posted on the state Division of Elections website said.

Large contributions in February included $50,000 from Mosaic Global Sales LLC and $50,000 from FCCI Services, Inc. The legislative session started Tuesday.
